Ph.D. at the University of Göttingen, 2022
Magna cum laude at the division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
I joined the doctoral program Behavior and Cognition of the Georg-August University School of Science in 2018, under the supervision of Oliver Schülke and Julia Ostner.
As part of the German Foundation (DFG) research group entitled “Sociality and Health in Primates” (SoHaPi2), I investigated the effects of prenatal maternal stress on a wild primate to provide a developmental perspective on adult health and improve the understanding of the sociality-health-fitness nexus.
M.sc. at the University of Pisa, 2016
Department of Biology
During my Master’s in Conservation and Evolution at the University of Pisa I fell in love with Ethology and the world of Primatology. I focused my studies on animal communication and in particular on Bonobos.
My thesis was on bonobos sexual behavior and their emotional and intentional communication. After my graduation, I contributed with a scientific paper to the ongoing debate on the Biological Market Theory (BMT) and showed that cooperation between animals can be seen as a mutually beneficial exchange of commodities, similarly to what is observed in human economic markets.

B.Sc. at the University of Palermo, 2012
Department of Biology
I got my Bachelor Degree in Natural Science from the University of Palermo. The project for the thesis focused on the reproduction of the Sicilian Toad.
